Are we Parrots

A talking parrot begins by mimicking human sounds and other domestic noises. Then it goes on to imitating speech. When a Christian choose to act, think, speak  like the world he is simply choosing to be a Parrot.  Christ said we were to be in this world but not of it. Be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Do we not mimic those things that we like or want to be like?  Though we are to be actively involved “in” the world to the degree that God will lead us to, we also have to realize and be very aware that we are not to become too much of an actual part “of” the world.  Yes we were given the great commission by Christ to share the gospel to all that we come into contact with, one of the best way we can do that is how we live our lives. What a better testimony than by the way we live to share with others Christ.  After all Christian is to be Christ like, a follower of Christ and his teachings.  When he was here on earth he ate with sinner but did not become a sinner, let us remember that, we can sit and eat with them but do not become involved in their dirty jokes etc... God is telling us to keep ourselves “unblemished” from the world. In other words, He does not want us to become spotted, contaminated, and tainted by the bad and evil things of this world. And the only way that we can keep ourselves from becoming too blemished and too contaminated from this world is not to get too deep and too friendly with the ways of this world.   “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (John 15:19)  “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:15)

Let none of us be like a Parrot for we are not of this world nor should we cling to or the things of this world. Each of you were brought out of darkness into the marvelous light, do not return to it. For only dog will return to his vomit, you are the sons and daughters of a king conduct yourself as such.

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days …” (Deuteronomy 30:19)

I think Christians want to pretend that by saying Jesus name and going to church that makes them better than us. In reality most of you men married to wives who force them to go to church. They are in unhappy marriages and unforfilling sexual relationships, I work part time as bouncer at gentlemen club and the majority of the men are married and attend church every Sunday. So yes Christians are like Parrots they pretend to be something they are not. Dr. H not sure why an educated man like yourself can't see most of your words are falling on deft ears. Christians fought wars and called them holly. The Catholic church had hookers and called them holly women. Most Christians I meet wouldn't know the truth if it hit them on the head. Unless they called their spiritual leader first to determine what is true or lie. When most of their leaders have no clue.
