They Mocked our Savior so who are we to worry if they mock us???

I talked with a brother last Friday night who I meet at the homeless shelter.
He told me how he loved the Lord and how God had brought him off the streets and
given him a new life. He wanted to share the gospel with all that he meet but he was afraid, that others would mock him or not listen.

I shared the following scripture with him:
MATTHEW 9:24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

I reminded him that if people didn't believe Christ and mocked  him, who are we to worry if they mock  us.
I shared with him one of my favorite songs. I sang a line of it and shared with him that  the singer. spoke of a man
who society saw as less than nothing. Because he didn't have a fancy home or car but instead was homeless.
The singer tells us how the man states that he is just a nobodies trying to tell everybody about somebody who can save anybody. And his name is Jesus Christ.

I reminded him that Christ found opposition, from his own brothers and those from his town, did not want to believe in him.
We are called to share the gospel with all that we meet.
So tell me who did you share the gospel with today?
Okay who did you share the gospel with last week?
Okay wait!! How about, who did you share the gospel with over the last month?
Okay wait I got it!!  Who did you share the gospel with in the last 6 months?

I'm so glade for that little old lady who was the family matriarch, my aunt Martha who shared the gospel
with me and and everyone she meet.  It didn't stick then but it certain never went away and because of
that I'm saved and washed in the blood of the lamb, because of seed that little old lady my aunt planted
I can say I can see a fruit of the spirit beginning to produce in my life.

THE MOCKING OF CHRIST

Mark 14:65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

Luke 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

Mark 15:17-20
   17. And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,

 18. And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!

 19. And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.

 20. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

Matthew 27:28-29
28. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

 29. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

Paul was beaten left for dead Peter was thrown into prison and so was John and the disciples all died sharing the gospel.
So what  if someone called you a Jesus freak or told you that the bible was just a composite of bed time stories.
Christ told his disciples that if they went into a town and the people would not receive the good news (the gospel).
That as they left the town they were to shake the dust off their feet, for God will deal with them on judgement day.
Let us stand before our heavenly father blameless because we know that have endured daily to share the gospel with all that we meet. Perhaps you say well that easy for you to do, but I have no background in ministry. I'm not asking to do a dissertation  or thesis on Christ or even preach. The best way you can share the gospel with others . Is by the life you live and the love you have one for another. We have been told to let our light shine, take it out from under your bed or in your closet and place in the window for the world to see and draw others out of the darkness and the cold. Sadly the world is looking for hope in all the wrong places.
Is it time we let the know where true hope can be found?

During the Tsunami in Chile, there was a son and Father and his Friend who were fisher men who all died.
They didn't have to die for you see they have reached safety, but they realized that there were many
that would perish, unless they went back for them. So they made atleast 3 trips to save others, who otherwise would have been lost.

Now that your saved, isn't it time you go back for the lost and bring as many as are willing to come out of the perils of this world to safe ground?
Its time!!!!  So what are you going to do?
