At the Cross

Galatians 6:14 God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus
Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."

As we ponder the crucifixion of  Christ, a fuller
understanding should bring us to an ever-deeper reliance on and
identification with Him. To assist us in examining the work of Christ
on the cross, let us use the beloved hymn "The Old Rugged Cross." Here
we will find its words reflecting a deep and abiding love for Christ
and His cross. The next four days we will, in turn, study each of its
four verses, but today, note its chorus:

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

Our text reminds us that there is no worth in any deed of our own,
including even a full adherence to the law of Moses Galatians (an ancient region in central Asia Minor, settled by invading Gauls (theGalatians) in the 3rd century bc. It later became a province of theRoman Empire.)
6:12-13. Only through the cross and the salvation by grace made
possible by the cross are we made righteous in the presence of God. We must
cherish the cross, and cling to it!  Each of us is called to take up

our cross and follow Christ. Each of us are told
to bring our burdens our sins our weakness to the cross
and lay them down. "Lay my burdens down"
The cross offers forgiveness, repentance,
grace and mercy and lite burdens for our heavy burdens.

"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the
Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me
only, but unto all them also that love his appearing" 2 Timothy 4:8.
All our legitimate accomplishments: those true trophies or "|crowns|
of rejoicing"  Thessalonians(Epistles of St. Paul to the new church at Thessalonica.)

1Thessalonians 2:19 done in His power and for His
glory will be cast before His throne Revelation 4:10 in recognition
of His worth and kingship. His cross made it all possible.

At the cross where I first received him, death happens at the cross
but from that death of the  sinful man life is given to the new man in Christ Jesus.
Let us daily go to the cross and die to the flesh, let us daily be ready to take
up our cross and bare it for as we are called Christians let them be like Christ.
If we do not pick up our cross and bare our burdens then we are not worthy.
Wow, we must suffer with Christ to enjoy eternity with him in the presence of the Father.
It is at the Cross were we first receive Christ,

The Cost of service

In more than 40 nations around the world today Christians are being persecuted for their faith. In some of these nations it is illegal to own a Bible, to share your faith Christ, change your faith or teach your children about Jesus. Those who boldly follow Christ—in spite of government edict or radical opposition—can face harassment, arrest, torture and even death. Yet Christians continue to meet for worship and to witness for Christ, and the church in restricted nations is growing.
Areas of the world where Christians face persecution include:

In July 2007, 42-year-old Li Mei and nine house church leaders were arrested, when they were discovered having a Sunday worship service. They were charged with singing Christian hymns to villagers, showing the JESUS film in a nursing home and praying for healing for a disabled elderly man. The nine were sentenced to re-education through labor for 12 to 18 months. Li Mei served part of her one-year sentence in a hospital with both hands chained to her bed. Repeated beatings and torture caused her to require a hysterectomy. She is currently serving the remainder of her sentence at home under house arrest.

Maryam Jalili, Mitra Zahmati and Farzan Matin, are imprisoned in Iran following their arrest while gathered at a house church to celebrate Christmas. On Dec. 24, Maryam, Mitra, and Farzan were among 15 Christians arrested by security forces in Pakdasht, Iran. After a week without information, family members contacted authorities and demanded to know where they were being held. Officials told the families that the Christians would be released the same day, but instead they were secretly transferred to the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. Twelve of the believers were released on Jan. 4. Security officials have also raided the imprisoned Christians' homes and confiscated their books, computers, phone directories, CDs, DVDs and Christian literature.

Mediate on the Word daily

In the book of Joshua 1:8 "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but
you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to
do according to all that is written in it. For then you will
make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

God's Word never changes. What God promised would work for
Joshua will work for us also. The problem with most of us is
that we are just too busy to apply God's Word first like we
should. How many times have we gone to the Father

in prayer concerning a issue. Instead of us waiting
till we hear from him we grow impatient and take matters into our own hands.
Without hearing from God? Or maybe you
were to busy to wait for him to speak to you?  Perhaps
you were to busy to hear Him speaking to you?

God never lies. Follow His instructions  for he has plans to prosper you.

No that does mean he is going to make you rich.
It simply means you will have prosperity and good success. Maybe not in 10 minutes.
Maybe not even for 10 years. But you will. God promises it.

Notice that Joshua 1:8 does not just say to think about God's
Word. No -- the Word must continually be in your mouth in your heart.

God is true and will not change, He promised that he would not

forsake us. David when he was forced to hide out in the cave
from King Saul, when Saul sought to kill him. David trusted in the Lord and daily
did he call upon the Lord. Till the victory was given to him. David Trusted
God to be his everything and to provide for his needs.

Tell me when your going through a storm, what do you turn to first?
Is it your own strength? Or your own intellect? Perhaps its the world?
Or men do you crawl back into your sin cave?
Or do you not worry, because you know that you anchored in the Word of God?

I watched this whole health care debate, I heard from many Christians
who some felt this was the end.  I smiled and thought who notified God of
this?  Bottom line for us we are to trust in the Word God for our hope,
and our promises are all there.  Trust not in Kings or prince's for they will fail you.

If we  keep our eyes on God and plant his word deep in our hearts,
does not matter what this world does, we will weather the storm because
God word  is a light unto our feet.
Let us each day dig into his Word and discover the promises of God.
Lean upon them and not yourself, for the flesh will fail, but God's word
will not return void.

Lord God, I pray that you will start a fire in me, to thrust for only your word.
To hunger for prayer time with you. Rest in faith in your promises to me.
Cloth me in your  righteousness, that my shame of this rotten flesh will not been
seen but instead your glory will shine so brightly that all that come into contact
with me can and will not be the same.

The Comforter

The Father will send a Comforter for us
till Christ returns, so we are not alone.
"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will
guide us if we allow him to do that, for we still have free will.

Christ tells us about the, that the Holy Spirits job here
shall be to guide us and instruct us in all things.

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity of God.

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do
not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit
Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered.

One way the Holy Spirit helps us is in prayer , by speaking on our behalf
often time when have no clue what to pray for. The Holy Spirit does.

"But when the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send
in My name comes know that his purpose is to instruct and guide you.

We are not alone for the Holy Spirit is with us. When we
need help He is never far away, but always right with us,
waiting for us to call on Him for His help. Not only
is the Holy Spirit to guide us but to encourage us and enlighten
us in the word of God.

We see in Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are
children of God,

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and
the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

They Mocked our Savior so who are we to worry if they mock us???

I talked with a brother last Friday night who I meet at the homeless shelter.
He told me how he loved the Lord and how God had brought him off the streets and
given him a new life. He wanted to share the gospel with all that he meet but he was afraid, that others would mock him or not listen.

I shared the following scripture with him:
MATTHEW 9:24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

I reminded him that if people didn't believe Christ and mocked  him, who are we to worry if they mock  us.
I shared with him one of my favorite songs. I sang a line of it and shared with him that  the singer. spoke of a man
who society saw as less than nothing. Because he didn't have a fancy home or car but instead was homeless.
The singer tells us how the man states that he is just a nobodies trying to tell everybody about somebody who can save anybody. And his name is Jesus Christ.

I reminded him that Christ found opposition, from his own brothers and those from his town, did not want to believe in him.
We are called to share the gospel with all that we meet.
So tell me who did you share the gospel with today?
Okay who did you share the gospel with last week?
Okay wait!! How about, who did you share the gospel with over the last month?
Okay wait I got it!!  Who did you share the gospel with in the last 6 months?

I'm so glade for that little old lady who was the family matriarch, my aunt Martha who shared the gospel
with me and and everyone she meet.  It didn't stick then but it certain never went away and because of
that I'm saved and washed in the blood of the lamb, because of seed that little old lady my aunt planted
I can say I can see a fruit of the spirit beginning to produce in my life.

THE MOCKING OF CHRIST

Mark 14:65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

Luke 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

Mark 15:17-20
   17. And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,

 18. And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!

 19. And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.

 20. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

Matthew 27:28-29
28. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

 29. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

Paul was beaten left for dead Peter was thrown into prison and so was John and the disciples all died sharing the gospel.
So what  if someone called you a Jesus freak or told you that the bible was just a composite of bed time stories.
Christ told his disciples that if they went into a town and the people would not receive the good news (the gospel).
That as they left the town they were to shake the dust off their feet, for God will deal with them on judgement day.
Let us stand before our heavenly father blameless because we know that have endured daily to share the gospel with all that we meet. Perhaps you say well that easy for you to do, but I have no background in ministry. I'm not asking to do a dissertation  or thesis on Christ or even preach. The best way you can share the gospel with others . Is by the life you live and the love you have one for another. We have been told to let our light shine, take it out from under your bed or in your closet and place in the window for the world to see and draw others out of the darkness and the cold. Sadly the world is looking for hope in all the wrong places.
Is it time we let the know where true hope can be found?

During the Tsunami in Chile, there was a son and Father and his Friend who were fisher men who all died.
They didn't have to die for you see they have reached safety, but they realized that there were many
that would perish, unless they went back for them. So they made atleast 3 trips to save others, who otherwise would have been lost.

Now that your saved, isn't it time you go back for the lost and bring as many as are willing to come out of the perils of this world to safe ground?
Its time!!!!  So what are you going to do?

A perfect love

You know when I'm in the kitchen and I'm cooking I want everything to be perfect, but sadly the problem is that I'm not perfect.  Yet the love that God has for us is perfect and just.
We have all heard it said, that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son for you and I.
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Even when you and I were yet his enemies he still loved us, beaten and bruised for our sins, yet at the end he asked the Father to forgive us . That takes some deep love. deeper than the love I have for my friends and family.

In Espesians 3:19 To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

It is hard to wrap your mind around the fact, that God loves us.
When in reality most of us do not love ourselves, so how could God love me?
My husband didn't? My wife didn't?  My kids didn't?
Yet the God of the universe love you!
Being the proud parent of 5 wonderful children.
I was very happy when my son graduated from college
very proud of my daughter for going to college.
yet they are no perfect and there are times when, less than proud.
Yet my love for them is the same.

God has been plaining from the fall in the garden
to redeem man back to him.
Ponder this for a life time if you will, not other
creation has God been willing to suffer for and die
to redeem  When the angels fell, God simple cast them
down into hell. But when it came to mankind, God had
a plain.

Tell me what have you done to earn his love?
What do you do with his love ?
How many people can say they see the love of Christ in you?
So now the next time the enemy, comes along and tell you that
God does not love you, ask him does he remember Calvary.
It was the love  that keep him on the cross, the love for you and I.
No greater gift than a man lay his life down for his friends.
You are a child of God which makes you even more important.
Rejoice for the Lord your God loves you and only wants to
shower you with his love and draw you near to him daily.

I'm truly sorry that someone hurt you. I'm sorry for the lies
you were told. Or the abuse you suffered at the hands of people
who claimed to love you. But know this if you come to God,
and ask him to pour out his love upon you. His love is perfect
like he is perfect, not flawed like me.

What????

Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who
comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder
of those who diligently seek Him.

First off relax, you come just as you are, for there is none among us that is
perfect and he created you and I. So he knows exactly what we are .

He does not expect perfection out of
you. If you were perfect you would not even need a Saviour.

God loves you and accepts you because He made you.
That is nothing you can say or do that will surprise him.
David came to on conclusion that whether he made his bed
in hell or in heaven that there was no where that he could go
that God could not be there right with him.

Ever wondered what is that God wants with me?
Ask him, you heard me right. Ask him.
But make sure you have ears to hear and the
heart to accept his perfect will for your life.
Often times its not that God is not speaking, its we are not listening.
God tells us in his word that he has plains to prosper us.
Christ gave the example of the wicked if they know how to give
good among themselves, how much more can we expect of our
heavenly Father who is love.

Does he expect you to read your bible everyday and ready to pray
3 times a day?
Does he expect for you to trust him?
Does he expect you to fall?
Does he expect that you will never sin again?
Does he expect you never to doubt him again?
What does he expect of you?
To perhaps love him?
To trust him?
To give him your burdens?
To come sit and let the two of you reason together?

Forgiveness is apart of the believers life

We must forgive one another . No matter what they have done. It is
the command of God. But it was given for our benefit.

For if we do not forgive others their trespasses, why should God forgive us?

He does and he wants us to be like him so, when others have hurt you
while i know the pain is deep and it does not go away just because you say
I forgive you.
But God is with you.
Refusing to forgive is like swallowing poison daily.
It will destroy you, forgiveness does not require a long time.

Forgiveness is not a feeling. It is a decision to quit holding
something against someone. When we forgive people we must
release them and forget it.

You may think it is impossible to forgive someone who has
deeply wronged you. With God it is possible. He never asks us
to do something we cannot do.

Love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for
nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will
be sons of the Highest. For He is kind to the unthankful and
evil.
"Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is
merciful.

It is not enough to forgive only those people who have wronged
us . We must forgive everyone!
Christ while hanging on the cross said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know
what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots.

Christ set a perfect example of forgiveness for us when He
forgave those who mocked Him and crucified Him. But this kind
of forgiveness is certainly beyond normal human ability or
experience. It takes the power of God to do it. When we are
born again we have access to that power through the love of God
inside us.

We are commanded to forgive others in the same way God has
forgiven us! Having God's help is necessary to do that.

In Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if
anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave
you, so you also must do.

Forgiveness is one way we can show mercy to another and show them love
which is normally opposite what they showed us.  Christ had the right to be
angry and even say Father destroy them for the pain they cause me.
He never said a mumbling word...

Many of the Elect shall fall by the way side

1 Timothy 4 (King James Version)

 in the final days  many shall fall by the way side from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
 These things command and teach.

As my brother Dustin and spoke after the men's prayer today, I realized something as my brother Don and sat at my house and BBQ and looked out at the woods in past my back yard. That a storm is coming, and we better get ready.

Brothers and sisters, I beseech you in these final day to become your brothers or sisters keeper, for Christ said it was not his nor the Father's will that any man should perish.  So yes we must become our brothers keeper, to  stand in the gap for him to pray for him. To get see about him when we notice he or she is not among the flock.
If a friend saw you going to trip over a hazard that he could have warned you about or moved. How would you feel if you asked him after why didn't he say anything or do something. His reply was that it was not his job to tell you.

WOW what a great friend he was?
But we all know the price for sin, do we not?
We are all sought after daily by the Lucifer, so know his intent is to take
everyone of us to hell with him.
Your a soldier's in the Lord's Army, meaning you leave no man behind, so take some time out of you busy day or busy morning or busy evening and lift up those you know and lift up the lost.

Each of us should have someone who hold us accountable in love, someone who will pray for you and encourage you and smack you up side the head when you need it.

Father God, let your children be busy in these final days doing your work.
Let us wake with a purpose to glorify you in our marriages, in work, with our families and with our friends and even our co-workers or boss.

The price for Sin is death

Did you know that the price for sin is death?
To live here on earth and go through hell is bad enough.
But to die and go to hell that is just crazy right?
But the word of God tells us that in the final days many of the elect
shall fall to the way side.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin
is the transgression of the law
.

Sin is breaking the Law, missing the mark set by God.

The word "sin" is a translation of the Greek word "hamartia"
which means to miss the mark.

For all have sinned, and fallen short of the  glory of God.

Religious tradition labels many things as sin which the Bible
does not. People make up all kinds of rules based on what they
think is right. But God is the judge and only God can decree
what sin is.

In Mark 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of
God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

God has not left us to wonder what sin is. The Word of God reveals it
to us. We don't have to guess, or make it up as we go.

In COLOSSIANS 2:8  Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty

deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the
basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

Temptation by itself is not sin. You cannot help being tempted. Even Christ
was tempted -- but He never yielded to it. Which is why the word of God tells you and I

 to resist sin.

Hebrew 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with
our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet
without sin.

These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is
allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.

God is against sin because it is deadly. Sin brings forth
death, not life and blessing. God loves people, so He is
against everything that harms people.

All sin harms people. (Just because you don't see how a sin
would harm anyone, does not mean you know more than God.)

But no human can be right with God by never sinning. We have
all fallen short and need a Savior. It is only by God's grace
and His forgiveness that we can be right with God.

By the blood of the Lamb are we forgive and redeem from sin.

For the price is great it is death, so let us draw near to the Lord
daily and die to our sinful flesh, instead of giving way to the desires of the
flesh that can only lead to death. Which is a total separation from God.
Let us take no part in sin, for our God is holly and we are to be holly also.
